Salesforce Agentforce
Salesforce's platform for building and running AI agents that work on CRM data and take actions inside Sales, Service and other Salesforce clouds.
Definition
Agentforce is Salesforce's product for AI agents inside the CRM. Administrators configure an agent rather than coding it from scratch. They define topics (the jobs the agent handles), natural-language instructions for each, and actions the agent may take, which are built from Flows, Apex, prompt templates and API calls. A reasoning engine selects topics and actions at run time, grounded in CRM records and, where configured, Data Cloud.
Agents can serve customers (on websites, messaging and voice channels) or employees (inside the Salesforce interface). The Einstein Trust Layer handles data masking, grounding and audit logging, and the agent operates under Salesforce's permission model, so it sees only what the running user may see. Salesforce ships pre-built agents for common roles, such as service and sales development, which can be customised.
Example: a service agent on a retailer's website answers order questions from CRM data, initiates a return through a Flow, and hands off to a human with a full summary when a customer asks for compensation outside policy.
What it means in practice
- If your processes already live in Salesforce, agents can act on them without a separate integration layer.
- Permissions, audit and data handling reuse what the org already has, which shortens governance work.
- Quality depends on data hygiene and clear instructions; a messy org produces an unreliable agent.
- Licensing is consumption-based and evolving; model the costs before committing to broad rollout.
How Teksmobile uses it
Our Agentforce and Einstein AI service designs topics, actions and guardrails, and builds the Apex and Flow actions agents need. We start with a Salesforce AI roadmap to pick the use cases with real return, and we explain the wider picture in Salesforce and LLMs.

Frequently asked questions
Is Agentforce the same as Einstein?
Einstein is the longer-standing brand for Salesforce's AI features, such as predictions and generative assistance. Agentforce is the layer for autonomous agents that plan and act. The two share underlying components such as the Einstein Trust Layer.
Does it need Data Cloud?
Not for every use, but grounding agents in unified customer data is where it adds most value, and some features assume Data Cloud. Scope this early, as it affects licensing. Pricing and packaging change often; check current terms.
Can Agentforce agents call our external systems?
Yes, through actions built on Flows, Apex, APIs and MuleSoft, subject to the same permissions model as the rest of the org. See Salesforce integrations.
